Q.
Which
Brother is Jim and which Brother is Bill?
I am always calling Bill, Jim.
A. This is Jim –
This is Bill –
Q. To what does
“Grand Lodge Vault Ritual Review” refer? I can’t find it in the Ritual!
A. At the Grand Lodge office there is a
vault. One of the many interesting
things in this vault is the official, One and Only, printed in full English Master
Ritual. This Ritual is available
for review, on site, by any visiting Master Mason. Just sign the Log Book and clear up all
those pesky questions you’ve been wondering about.
Q I did a lot of work
years ago but only do a few selected parts now and
information.
A. We trust you. Circle the points you know you’ve earned and
total them up.
Q. How many times must I
give a part or lecture to earn the points?
A. One time is sufficient for all Masons. Record keeping for the “times three” idea was
a disaster and has been eliminated.
Q. I’ve given the
Memorial Service 46 times. How many points does
that
earn?
A. The maximum is Ninety. The maximum is the maximum.
Q. How long do I have to gather points for a
pin?
A. The rest of your life or as long as you
wish. This is a career long program.
Q. How far back can I go
to count points?
A. All the way. If you gave a Memory lecture in Lodge years
ago, the points are yours.
BTW, if you gave your proof of
proficiency in open Lodge, that’s 85 points per Degree.
Q. I’ve given some parts years ago, but can’t
do them currently. Can I still count
them?
A. YES. And the dates and places are not
important. Your personal recollection
is all that is required.
Q. Having paid the enrollment fee and gotten
my Ritualist pin, must I pay again to when I reach the Senior level?
A. NO!!
Send in a complete up to date enrollment form, and your pin will be
forth coming. One payment covers all
levels. Your secretary will trade you up
to the next level when your pin arrives.
Q. I have enough points for Senior and a good bit more, need I send the full list or just enough for
Senior?
A. Send the complete list, the extra points will be on your
record at the clearing-house and will count toward your Lodge and Area totals.
Q. When I start as a Ritualist can I expect
to collect all three pins?
A. If you insist but we hope you will return
them via your secretary so they may be recycled.
Q. The points system doesn’t seem
logical. 3rd R is only 15 and
his part is far larger than 2nd & 3rdR’s?
A. Ever seen a Lodge that doesn’t have guys
lined up to do 3rdR? Supply and demand,
we need the others more, so we put more weight on them.
Q. We seldom have 4th, 5th
& 6th Craftsmen, how do we get those points
A. Add them to the 2nd and 3rd just like the Ritual does, if that’s how you did it.
